Are you a handloom lover? These handwoven cushion covers from The Cannanore Shop have come straight from the craftsmen of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This weaving technique is called Pattu (strips) and is traditionally used to craft stunning shawls in wool. The weavers would also make large shawls for the camel's back! They are woven in colours like cream, white, reds and oranges and today too the the colour palette remains pretty much like it was traditionally. This particular weave is called Kashida Pattu. They look like embroidery when in fact it is woven. The fabric is usually twill cotton for these cushion covers and the design pattern is created using an extra weft yarn in bright contrasting colours using sticks to insert and craft these delightful designs. The motifs here look like pillars and the dome of temples and the shape of the damru (drum) is also often incorporated in this style of pattu weave. The colours are classic and stylish and contemporary and are perfect to throw on your sofa or bed for that extra cosy feel! The fabric is hundred percent cotton, handwoven by the nimble fingers of experienced craftsmen. The filler is not included in the price but it is available to purchase on our website.
