Flute Woman

₹ 1,700.00

Take a look at this figure of a lady playing an instrument similar to a flute. She is depicting a traditional tribal woman from interior Orissa, eastern India. A state known for its craftsmanship of various products and exquisite handloom. The Dhokra craft that you see here is made using the lost wax method which is a long and painstaking process that involves a mould made of clay, wax and brass and of course careful art work as the artisan creates the design on the figurine. Easy to maintain, all you have to do is wash it with tamarind pulp for a classy lustre or use a solution for brassware for that shine. Or quite simply give it a good wipe with a soft cloth regularly and let it take on a dull antique patina that is so traditional. You could place them in a corner as a single piece or with a couple of other human figures playing different instruments also available on our website. Size - 8.5 inches high
